unable to move layer

I dropped a layer into my main file and when I try to move it, the layer will not move.  Instead, the adjustment layer above it becomes selected (I am on the actual layer I want to move when trying to move it).  Is this happening because I have an adjustment layer clipped to the layer I am trying to move?  I feel like I create adjustment layers all the time for layers that I drop into a file and this does not present a problem, but now I am not sure.  Thanks.Doc1-page0001 (9).jpg

Hi

Two things:

  • Look in the options bar for your Move tool and uncheck AutoSelect if it is checked
  • Also, is this a 3D image? It appears that you are in the 3D workspace

Auto-Select was the problem.  Thank you!  I did not know about this option.
