Hi

I'm trying to create an animated map using Photoshop showing the route from Sài Gòn (Ho Chi Minh City) to VÄ©nh Long in Vietnam.  I've followed Long-Rider's instructions in the YouTube clip "How to animate a travel route with Photoshop" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1xYQtbUjSiU&list=PLPgFpbWVQMAvc2GrNBuw3B36BE6IR8Zup&index=10).

I can do everything up to 8:09, but can't get the mask to move as he does.

I've tried to do this using a mac and windows, but without success.

I've attached my file.

Can someone please help me?

You have an infinite (without borders) mask.
To fix the situation, do the following.
Activate the mask (click on it).
Perform an inversion (Ctrl+I).
The mask will become white, but also infinite.
Then fill the mask with black (menu->edit->fill->black).
After that, you can move the mask.

Look in your Layers panel to see if there is a Link icon. If so, the layer and mask will move together. Click once on the link icon to unlink them, then click once on the mask to select it before you drag.

Does this work?

If not, please clarify what you mean by "can't get the mask to move as he does". What happens when you try?
