Hi guys, I am driving myself crazy trying to figure out how to paste a png into an opacity mask to add a texture effect to an image. I copy the png,  I click alt and the layer mask to be inside the opacity mask and then click paste and absolutely nothing happens. It sometimes pastes as a new layer but thats not what I want! Can anyone help?

Open File A, the one to which you will add the mask and image in a moment.

Open File B, the png file holding the image you want inserted in a mask.

In File B: Select All,  Edit > Copy

Move to File A and add a Mask (Click on the Mask symbol at the bottom of the Layers panel.)

Opt-click on the mask. The area will go white.

Edit > Paste

Turn on the eye for that layer

NOTE: If File B is of a different dimension than File A Copy and Paste it into File A (it will be an additional layer) and adjust the image size. Then Select > All, Edit > Paste into the mask as instructed above. Last, turn off the top layer.)
