More problems since updating to PS 2021.
Once I place an image (png, jpg, etc), I cannot resize it. I used to be able to select it and have the option to drag the corners to resize, but that option is no longer available. I have to delete the image and bring it in from my external source all over again if I want to change the size.
Is there a way to revert back to PS 2020? I've had nothing but problems since updating.
Make sure you have "Show transform controls" checked in the options bar at top.

Problems since updating to Photoshop 2022!! I can't resize images placed in a photoshop file. The transform/move tool won't let me drag the corners to resize images. There isn't even a section that has "Show transform controls."
Please help!

I can't find it either. If someone can tell us where the transform control selection is, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I already have "Show transform Controls" checked but I still can't resize.

You can click an object (layer?) and then Ctrl T. Thats the shortcut for Transform. I was having the problem of not being able to resize even if selected. Closed Photoshop, opened again and now it works.

This is what I experienced too - happened multiple times in a row. (I was
resizing a pile of images into one template). It would work for 5-10 then
just stop until I relaunched the program 😑--

I'm suddenly having the same problem. (9/9/2022) I embed an image, use CTL T command to select it. But I cannot use the handles to size the image. This is the first time its ever happened. I've been working all day as usual and suddenly this happens. "Show Controls" is checked.

I'm newish to Photoshop but found that if I had another object on the same layer that my new image was copied to, then using Ctrl T was unresponsive. I deleted the other object on the layer (you could just duplicate the layer if you want to keep) and that allowed me to use Ctrl T with the new image. However, that image appeared too pixelated, despite converting to a smart object before increasing its size - someone else might be able to advise on what's going on with that.

That wasn't the problem. New image, new layer. I closed the program. Reopened, and it worked fine. Haven't had the problem since. Clueless as to why it was not working.

If you're using elements you're in the wrong forum... this is for full Photoshop (subscription). Photoshop Elements forum at https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-elements/ct-p/ct-photoshop-elements?page=1&sort=latest_repl...

Please help. I read this entire thread.
* I have the latest updates. Show Transform Controls Enabled.
* I recently reinstalled the app.
This morning it worked fine. Saved PDF file. Saved a PNG file. Closed Photoshop.
An hour later, reopen file and now I can not resize any objects or images again. I have closed the app and still the same issue.
Is there a Preference setting that can prevent this from happening?

If you're reopening the PNG you've lost Photoshop edit ability. Make sure to save PSD for editing as well.

If you're looking for a quick and easy way to resize images (png, jpg, etc.), check out mbtokb.net. It's an online tool that simplifies the resizing process without needing to re-upload your images. Give it a try!

I recently upgraded Ps and this happened, samesame. Then luckily an error msg appeared saying theres not enough memory RAM to transform the layer. Bingo! Went into Prefs > Performance, up’d the default by another 5gb n viola...have to play with this a bit yet, worked. Good luck out there! INJOY
