Upgraded to Windows 10 and cannot re-activate Photoshop CS3, even with the new download and key.

Any suggestions? I'm dead in the water. I have CS3 web premium. I followed the instructions here but it does the same thing. https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/activate-deactivate-products.html

Did you delete cache.db?

Navigate to the cache folder and manually remove the cache.db file.

Mac OS: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PCD/cache/

Windows:

  • 32 bit: \Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe PCD\cache\
  • 64 bit: \Program Files(x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe PCD\cache\

I think this will fix it:

When presented only with "register later" and "register now" click "register later" then go up to the menu screen at the top of whatever application you're in. Let's say it's Photoshop - that's where I performed this action, anyway. You'll see the "help" tab next to "window" up there...click on "help" then click on "registration." There it will give you the three options again "Never Register" "Register Later" and "Register Now." Make sure to click "Never Register" he

It may be the old license cache is stll there and interfering with your attempts to license it with the new key.

You might delete the old cache and try again.

I tried the cleaner three times. I still have the same issue. It tries to reactivate. Never asks for the new serial number.

I renamed the folder to Adobe PCD OLD, did another install and was asked for the serial number upon opening it. I got this:

Adobe register.png

What happens if you try "register later?" Your serial number works, registration is a voluntary thing.

Glad that took care of it. Been years since I used CS3 and I tend to forget exactly where some options are located.
