Upgrading From PS5 to CC -- Help

I'm running a legal version of PS5 on a Mac. It's paid for so I saw no need to upgrade. But when I moved to MacOs Mojave, PS5 began to fail, a little at a time until it's now virtually unusable. Looks like I'm going to have to finally upgrade to CC. If anyone can help me, I'd love to find a step by step guide to purchasing and downloading CC and installing it, especially with respect to PS5 and all the files on my system that might need to be removed either before or after the CC install. Others have gone through this and I'm hoping for some reference to the pitfalls and proper sequence for this process.
Thanks for any help, links, pointers anyone might be inclinded to share.

Just take out the photography plan, which includes the latest version of Photoshop, plus upgrades, as they become available, plus Lightroom, and costs about $10 a month.
Lots of useful new features in the recent versions of Photoshop!

Thanks for the reply!
I'm upgrading from PS5. I need to know a number of things first:
1) Should remove it before installing CC?;
2) Do I absolutely need to subscribe to Creative Cloud before I can use subscription CC, or can I download and run the CC photography subscription apps without a seperate Creative Cloud subscription?;
3) If I encounter problems, is there an Adobe cleaner or tool to help remove PS5 files that might conflict?
Not my first rodeo. What often sounds easy with complicated apps can become a cluge. Best to know as much as possible first, backup, and hope. I'm not finding much support directly from Adobe, which troubles me. When buying a car, the sales people rush to greet you. After the purchase is final is where Yelp gets most low ratings. Adobe offered me a robot AI to upsale, which is useless.
But again, thanks for helping!

1 it's up to you, it should run along side CC without issue
2 the CC subcription is related to the apps you pay for, the Creative Cloud is an app that you use to download your paid for apps, it's not a separate entity

Thanks for the suggestions, and especially the link to the cleaner tool. Looks like a person candownload and clean known problems that might linger from former versions of various Adobe apps. Hope I don't need it, but then if this subscription addition of Photoshop CC goes like some of the other changes I've had to make over the years, well, you never know. Can't run PS5 anymore at all after the last Mojave update so it's now useless and crashes the apple core process. Once removed, it's gone forever though. So you can see why I'm trying to get all the prep help I can before I start whacking around with my system.

You don't need to uninstall previous versions of Photoshop, but they may not work with recent OS.
You can only subscribe to PS CC.
There is a seven day trial so you can test before subscribing.
Which version OS do you have?

MacOs Mojave 10.14.6. PS5 worked flawlessly without a single hitch from the time I paid $700 for it in 2011 until I broke down and went from Sierra to Mojave. Then it began to have problems. I manage to hunt down and use work arounds and solutions until this last update. After that, PS5 got worse with each Mojave update until it just crapped out completely. Can't find a solution anywhere. It crashes the apple core process, so it's hopeless. After intitiating this thread, I FINALLY managed to find a Adobe support chat from India who said it's "highly reccommended" that I unstall PS5 first. I just want to make sure that I get all my ducks in order because big changes with OS's and complicated apps can bring big problems. Not my first rodeo.

Thanks for the replies. Here's what it looks like I should do:
1) back up my system
2) uninstall PS5 (chat person said "highly reccommended")
3) purchase a PS CC subscription
4) download and install the new app
5) test it out
6) if there are problems, try the Creative Cloud cleaner tools
The chat help from India said I should purchase the subscription first, then tech would help me throught the process above, so points 2 and 3 would be reversed. And comments on this?

Hi
Just purchase the subscription, I'd remove CS5 after backing up your system and then use the cleaner tool to remove any remnants of CS5, download the CC app from here
https://helpx.adobe.com/ie/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-desktop-app-download.html
Once installed just sign in with your Adobe ID and password and you should see this screen where you can install the apps you paid for
I'm not a MAC user but from what I've read on the forum you'd be better off to stick with Mojave for the moment, people running Catalina seem to be having a lot of issues with Photoshop at the moment.
See no tech support required 😉
