Urgent Help Needed: Photoshop Crashes When Adding Website Names

Hello,

I am a Photoshop user, and I really enjoy designing pictures using Photoshop. I have designed many pictures with Photoshop, but today, when I was designing a picture in Photoshop, everything was fine until I wrote the name of this website: ssf.mp3juice.day   on the picture. My Photoshop automatically closed, and this has happened to me five times now. Every time I try to write the name of a website, Photoshop shuts down.

I rely on Photoshop for my creative work, and this sudden issue is causing a lot of frustration. I've tried restarting my computer, but the problem persists. Any guidance or solution would be greatly appreciated.

Your assistance will make a big difference in my work and peace of mind.

One thing to check is to see if you have a corrupted typeface or something else going on with the type.

  • What happens when you type other words with the same settings?
  • What happens when you type another website, such as www.adobe.com?
  • Can you show a screenshot of your Character panel (Window menu) with some text selected?

Here are several things to try:

1. Try resetting the Character panel

Character panel > panel menu (in upper right) > select Reset Character from the flyout

2. It could be a bad typeface. Try resetting the Font Cache (a new one will be created):

Windows

  1. Exit Photoshop and the Creative Cloud desktop app
  2. Navigate to \Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop <version>
  3. Delete the CT Font Cache folder and empty the Recycle Bin

3. If needed, also try the steps here for troubleshooting typefaces:

Hey, @Daniel32111037fc6e. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. I'll help you figure this out. It'll help if you include more info about what you see. Could you please share a screen recording of this behavior & the system info of Photoshop from Help > System info > Copy & paste into a text document > upload to Creative Cloud files (https://assets.adobe.com/files) and share the link here.

What troubleshooting steps have you tried? Do you see a crash report when Photoshop crashes?

If Photoshop is crashing randomly without an error or crash report, try this basic troubleshooting steps first:

  • Sign out of the Creative Cloud desktop app.
  • Restart the computer & sign in again to the CC desktop app.

If the steps shared above don't help, ensure Photoshop is in the default state, go to the location of the preference folder below, and rename it to backup. https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html

  • Windows 10/11: Users/[user name]/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop [version]
  • Press Windows + R & type this is the Run Window - %APPDATA%\Adobe

    expand image

  • Rename the Adobe Photoshop folder by adding a .old at the end. (Adobe Photoshop 2023 > Rename > Adobe Photoshop 2023. old)

These changes will give a fresh start to Photoshop (beta) as a fresh install. Let me know if the issue exists.

Thanks!
