Wacom Intuos Pen - Brush size change shows/act differently as expected

When the Pen button (the one mapped to CMD + OPT) is clicked and I try move the pen across the tablet (up/down or right/left) w/o touching the tablet I am not able to the brush to change. What in fact happens a little pop-up come up where I have a slider to choose a brush, change size and hardness etc.

In a way I can still get there what I want to do but I would prefer where the brush will change directly,

I also checked the brush setting and in the Brush Settings panel, make sure that Shape Dynamics is selected, and Control is set as Pen Pressure.

Please advise what am I doing wrong? I had thing working maybe like 3-4 weeks back when I played around with it and today when I tried doing the same it has this pop-up show up. I would like it to do it able to move brush up/down and left/right to be able to adjust my brush.

Thanks

You have the upper button of the pen configured to right-click. If you press that, the pop-up will show up. You may be pressing it by mistake.

Also, with the lower button configured to Ctrl+Opt (not CMD+OPT), you can change brush size and hardness, but you have to make contact with the tablet and drag up/down or right/left.

Thanks so much for the quick reply. I was trying to fix this and I may have set it to Ctrl+Opt instead of Cmd+ Opt. I set it back to Cmd+Opt (attached picture) .

With the Brush on :  So now when I press the bottom buton (closer to the nib and ensuring I am not clicking to top button which is mapped to Right-click) and move to w/o toching the tablet I get the HAND tool. You cannot touch and move up/down because it will paint.

What am I missing here?

If you are on a Mac, you need to set it to CTRL+Opt, NOT to CMD+Opt.

If you are getting the Hand tool or other tool when you press your properly configured button, it may be that you have another program overriding what happens when you press Ctrl or Opt, or maybe even a shortcut in Photoshop was assigned to that combination. Also, you may have to update your tablet's driver.

In any event, when it works the way it is supposed to, you do need to drag on the tablet to change size/hardness.
