Weird display error

Hello everyone,

I run my old CS6 on a Windows 11 system. The screen resolution is 3.840 x 2.400. As many users havbe experienced with such a high resolution, photoshop is displayed so small that you can't really read anything. I recently found a hack that solved this problem: Right-click on the photoshop.exe >> properties >> compatibility mode >> System (Enhanced) DPI scaling. With this photoshop is displayed like it used to be. However, now I got another weird problem. Whenever I open an image file it is shown in a very restricted window. I attached two screenshots to show what I mean. It is neither possible to move, scale or work with these windows. Can someone identify with this problem and has a fix for it?

Thank you very much for reading!

For "Override high DPI scaling behavior"instead of System (Enhanced) try System and see if that solves the issue.

You need to keep perspective here.

Photoshop CS6's code was written in 2012, and got its last update in 2014, nine years ago. Neither high resolution screens nor Windows 11 were invented back then.

This is why people update software and keep it current!

Thanks D Fosse, of course you're right. But sometimes even an old setup can work. The issue was solved by using the "System" option instead of "System (Advanced)".

Just be aware that this scales everything up including the image. It will now use four screen pixels to represent one image pixel.

In other words, it turns your 4K screen into a standard HD screen and the high resolution you paid for is wasted.

To get full support for high resolution screens, you need a newer Photoshop version.

Why didn't I think of that?! Works like a charm. Thanks a million!
