weird Mouse selection offset

Hello,

firstoff apologies for my bad english,

I recently started using Photoshop 2023 (v24.6) and I'm encountering some peculiar issues. Firstly, when I try to select a menu option, there seems to be a four-tile offset. For example, if I click on the "Window" menu, it displays the options from the "Selection" menu instead. Secondly, when I draw with the mouse, there is an offset between the drawn line and the cursor. However, this problem doesn't occur when I use my drawing tablet.

I've already attempted to update the driver for my drawing tablet, but it didn't resolve the issue. I also tried switching to fullscreen mode, but that didn't help either.

Has anyone else experienced similar problems in Photoshop 2023? If so, I would greatly appreciate any advice or suggestions on how to resolve these menu and cursor offset issues.

I've seen the menu offset happen on other computers exactly twice in three decades of working with Photoshop. Both times resetting Preferences fixed the issue.

You can reset from Preferences > General or reset them Manually.

Manual means you quit PS > rename the Preferences file to back it up > launch PS > a new Preferences file is created. If it doesn't solve your issue, you can reverse the process. Details here:

I had this too.

The mouse had an offset in the menus, also sometimes when painting a mask with a brush.

This seems to be related to a different issue with high DPI.

For me this was solved by finding the photoshop executable -> Properties -> Compatibility -> Change High DPI Settings -> Managed by Application.

Did not need to reset PS preferences (so far...).
