What Do I Do With PNG or EPS Shape Files in Photoshop CC?

I just downloaded a ZIP file containing hundreds of small hand drawn files in both EPS and PNG format.  I assumed they were to be in CSH format if they were intended to be used as shapes.  So what do I do with the files so I have access to them in Photoshop CC?  Do I access them simply as external files?

Png file are supported well in Photoshop.  ESP files can be opens are sized wilt open options. The future of the EPS file format

Hi Gerry,

You can open both in Photoshop and change them to whatever format you want. Just know that you will have to rasterize an .eps file to bring it into PS by choosing a size and pixel dimension. Then it will be a raster image just like any other photograph.

What you plan on doing with the images once you get them into PS will determine how you process an eps file.

Perhaps I should have been more explicit.  When I downloaded the files, I expected something like CSH files that I could import into my shapes folder.  Instead I have hundreds of individual files in both EPS and PNG format.  So two questions:  First, if you were me and wanting to use these files in Photoshop CC as shapes or something equally convenient, what would you do with them, and secondly, why would the author create the files in the format they did?  Would they be possibly directly useful in Lightroom or Illustrator?  I have CC, but generally only use Photoshop and Bridge.

They are not shapes  png file are useful on the web and useful for adding little things to image and supports transparency.  Image are also not shapes they are also useful. Shaped  have vector paths and are resized using Vector graphics not by interpolation.

In that case you can drag your .eps files in your document.

They will be a smart object and you'll have a vector element in your file.
