When using brush pen and colour, overlapping the brush creates a saturated colour

Okay so I don't know how to explain this, but, when I use my brush pen and try to colour with any colour, it creates a new colour everytime I overlap the brush, like as if I've changed it to overlay, but I haven't, I don't know how to fix it it's become a problem because the only way I can colour rn is by using one stroke.

I have checked the brush mode and it was on Hard mix, ive changed it to normal now, Thankyou so much

If your brush is aready set to "Normal" as @D Fosse suggested, check that your brush is actually fully opaque by disabling the layer "Background."
