Whenever I select a custom brush in photoshop, it switches my tool selection to eraser?

For instance, I'll press B to enable brush mode, go to my brush presets and select a soft brush, which automatically forces it to switch to the eraser tool. I assume somewhere along the line this tool may have been marked as an eraser tool? Is there a way to make it so I can use it as a brush without creating a second brush?

With the Brush selected (no matter the Tool) save it anew but uncheck »Include Tool Settings«.

The new Brush should work for any Tool.

This totally works, is there any way to do this with all of my presets?  Or does it have to be individually done?

Unfortunately I don’t know of a way to automate that.
