Why can't things be left alone for a while?

At least some of the simple legacy things like making clicking off an item.  There are so many preference settings no one can figure them out anymore.  I'm not the only one that complains about this. I have long standing friend and client with the same.  Every version gets more complicated.  I can't slide my palettes around i.e. when their edge overlaps the one anymore.

Also, I have to constanly turn off the selection frame with cmd/H.  Clicking away doesn't work anymore.

Just work on the bugs. Leave the stuff alone thats been working fine since psd came out.

Solution for you: Don't update.

The product is going to keep changing (and for some improving). There is nothing you can do about that but stick to the version you are comfortable using. No one forces you to update; turn off auto update in the Creative Cloud app, use it to go back versions. Problem solved.
