Why is Photoshop creating these files and how can I stop it?

Hey guys,

We have a file server with a bunch of psd images in it, when people open those files a file that looks like this:

Adobe Photoshop CC 2018104277515795166

or

Adobe Photoshop CC 2018104277519405325

Appears in the same folder where the file is.

If these files are needed by Photoshop, how can I setup Photoshop to put them somewhere else?

Thanks,

705

Those are the active temp files and should disappear once they close Photoshop.

I'm having the same issue on our server. It's obvious the files should disappear once they close Photoshop. The problem is they are not disappearing and are starting to eat up large portions of our server space. Any ideas as to why this is happening? What we should be looking for?
