World Ready Layout - creating issues with letter spacing

Now that Photoshop 2022 has turned on World Ready Composer by default, I would like to request that Adobe give us back the abitily to set Latin back as the default.

Not sure WHEN this became a problem, but just this week alone I've run in to issues with kering specific letters, across different fonts. In one instance it was kerning two letters would show no change and then another single number increment would go too far. Had another instance where trying to kern between and I and O in BILLION it glitched and kerned between the L and the I instead.

However, if I change the text to Latin, in ALL instances of having kerning issues in World Ready, I get kerning to work as expected. A pain to have ot change it each and every instance I have an issue.

Okay @J453 , I'll probably have to do some more playing but here is what I've discovered.

The odd bug about the font adjusting on the wrong side of the letter when occuring was with an OTF font not in Adobe libray. Not sure if you'd want me to zip up a specific font and example to show it but I couldn't replicate with any Adobe Font I tried so it may be an issue with a particular font.

Now the kerning but nothing happening, I was able to get an Adobe font to replicate that issue. Haven't played with others to see how it changes but attaching a PSD that has the Adobe Allotrope Bold font used in both "World" and "Latin" with some instruction on background layer of what I'm seeing differently.

Let me know what else I might be able to provide, like the wonky font and I'll keep an eye to see if I see it more than once on that one.

Thanks. I'll need to have the type engineerng team look at this to try and reproduce/understand. Sample files are sometimes the fastest route to discovery. Cheers.

Thanks Jeffrey, I'll work to get a PSD to post when I have something!

Can you post any PSDs that exhibit this behavior? (bonus points if they use Adobe Fonts so we don't have to hunt down fonts) - Use CC files or dropbox and share a link.
