zoom by dragging (doesnt work suddenly)

i had PS set up so that when im on the zoom tool i can drag on the screen and it zoomed in and out

but this has stopped working today , now it draws a marquee area and zooms into that.  it has me very disoriented and i cant figure out how to change it back

any ideas?

Do you have Scrubby Zoom enabled in the options bar
