In 25.0.0 the zoom tool becomes "sticky" - pressing left mouse button from 1-5 times (inconsistent). So click and drag continous EVEN after mouse release., This bug is specific to 25.0.0 and have not been observed in out previous testing of no other point releases.
This is a very serious problem making 25.0.0 completely unusable with wacom stylus for any serious work. As always reverting back to 23 and the obligatory warning to our customers and clients to avoid upgrading!

Probably the same cause as in: https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-ecosystem-bugs/p-completely-broken-hand-tool-ps24-5-hand-to...
For Windows: You may lose all you settings. Try deleting the 2024 settings file
Adobe Photoshop 2024 Prefs.psp
from:
c:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2024\Adobe Photoshop 2024 Settings\
and copying the 2023 one (Adobe Photoshop 2023 Prefs.psp) from:
c:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2023\Adobe Photoshop 2023 Settings\
to the 2024 folder instead. After copying, rename "Adobe Photoshop 2023 Prefs.psp" to "Adobe Photoshop 2024 Prefs.psp".
This solved the stickiness problem for me.

Hey man, Jay here, I was a huge factor in why we now have "Spring Loaded Tools" as a toggle option so if anyone has experience in telling Adobe they screwed up it's me.
I found a fix that worked and I don't know why it did. Here we go.
Step 1) Go to Appdata (Click Start, type %appdata%, hit enter, go to Adobe, go to Photoshop 2024, go to Adobe Photoshop 2024 Settings)
Step 2) Cut "Adobe Photoshop 2024 Prefs.psp" and go back one folder, and paste it
Step 3) Open Photoshop, it'll have all your prefs defaulted (and you'll find the bug is not fixed)
Step 4) Close Photoshop
Step 5) Rename that prefs file to "Adobe Photoshop 2021 Prefs.psp" and put it back in the folder
Step 6) Run Photoshop
I have no idea why this worked, by literally all means it should not have worked at all, but it worked. Hope it works for you.

Thank you so much for the tip - yes it actually seems to be working. Havent had time to extensive testing, but seems stable.
This is very interesting and somewhat worrying that a prefs file can cause such mayhem. Clearly it takes the old 2021 file and converts it to a new (smaller) 2024 file and changes something - a change thats not happening with a normal upgrade.
Based on this is should be trivial for the Adobe team to compare the files and isolate the issue.
