P: Curve adjustment graph dialog size is tiny. Please make it bigger.

Mentor ,

The Curve Adjustment properties dialog can be scaled somewhat, but it is still tiny on larger screens running a higher resolution. In Gimp, PhotoLine, and other image editors the curves graph can be scaled up to the actual screen size, if needed.

Please make the curves graph more responsive in regards to dialog scaling. The graph is so small, making it harder than it needs to be to work with, and very difficult for precise adjustments.

Same here! There should be scalability and flexibility in the Curve Adjustment tool.

I've been waiting twenty years for a larger Curves graph.

There is currently a pixel-level control of the  "path" adjustment but none for the "pencil" adjustment.  A larger curves dialog would make it possible to use the "pencil" adjustment with pixel-level precision as well.  There may be other ways to give more precision to the "pencil" adjustment as well...

Are they coming at it from other angles?  Point Color, for instance.  Curves are an important tool in Photoshop, but their function is the important thing, and new tools like Point Color allow us more control of that function.

My go to approach for fine control is to lay a bunch of Color Sampler points on the image, and position the Info panel to show exactly what is happening.   Place a point on the curve using the 'little hand' icon, and adjust the Input and Output values using the cursor keys.  My mantra is 'The numbers don't lie'.   Point Color does more or less the same thing, but does it with more control.

Hi - I am a relative beginner in PS.  And you seem to hit on what I wanted - to have the grid larger.  However my input and output are greyed out.  Am I missing something to enable an input?

That’s more of a question that should be posted in the general discussion area and not really part of this specific feature request thread, but for Input and Output to be available, you have to first select a point, because Input and Output determine where that point is on the graph. For most people that happens when they click the curve to add a point to it, but you can also select the default start or end point. And most people simply drag the point where they want it, and that sets Input and Output so they don’t have to type anything.

Due to the inclusion of the histogram, I can only see this working in multiples of 256 pixels (512, 768 etc).

@Stephen Marsh, OK, let's make options as in the Layers panel.

I agree entirely.  The curves graph used to be larger and it truly hard to work within it now!

Wowsers! My feature request is approaching the 8 year mark!

Perhaps a screenshot of PhotoLine might serve as inspiration. Compare Photoshop's tiny Curves editor with PhotoLine's infinitely scalable Curves editor:

...and why is it still not possible to work with LAB or HSV in the curve editor while in RGB image mode? Sigh...

What is the point of increasing the grid size if the program can only perform integer calculations?

The program is originally designed to output data for printing, where the dynamic range of tones is much smaller than on displays. The light on Photoshop has not shrunk. There is 3dlut creator, darktable and others where calculations are made with a floating point. In such programs, it makes sense to increase the size of the instrument curves.

Sellcome in todays world. Things changed ages who. Photoshop is also used for Webdesign and painting and even if so, the curves windows adjustiert Windows on a 4K screen is 4x4 cm in Size. That's absolut unusable Even for Photo editing 🤦🏻

@marvinaustin  That's not really the point, is it though? Usability and user experience are.

I don’t know. I use photoshop as a kind of transport node between rpp (raw photo processor) program to develop photos and 3dlut creator application, where the calculations are made with floating point as in rpp application. All the finishing to the commercial appearance is 3dlut creator. Adobe photoshop acts as some collector - crop, layers. Sometimes generative filling. True, with the last moment I’m thinking about going to flux. There is no censorship and prospects beyond.
Photoshop is doing its job, as well as adobe premiere. It’s a shame. I’ve been working in these programs since '98, I think. Back in the days of '98. Before photoshop was fractal design painter under win95, but not for long.
I would not say that I am comfortable working in several programs, to process one picture, but other aesthetically good options of processing so for me. Photoshop for its time was a harvester. The year before 2010.
