Photoshop Smart Naming

The generative prompt would be a start point for naming from Firefly or Photoshop (generative smart object layer name from prompt to save name can be scripted).

Sending a local file (or low res proxy) to the cloud to get an AI generated name is of course something else.

As the following tool is designed to create alternative text descriptions for web images, it returns a lot of text. One can prompt to make the description shorter or manually prune the result:

Of course, you need to keep in mind the privacy, rights and the TOS of the provider, whether it is OpenAI or Adobe or anyone else.

How should this actually work? 

Are you talking about newly created images (»Untitled-1« etc.) or about images that come from cameras (usually with consecutive numbering and should only the layered files get a new name or the RAW-images, too) or …? 

In any case I think a fature like this would be better located in Bridge/Lightroom/… 

well, AI is getting smarter and smarter. it might be a feature sometime in the future, as right now i cant see generative ai naming it accurately... asdfasdf is problably not that much different from what ai would name it... ai is still a baby, very new to the scene

That's an interesting idea. I wonder if that's something Firefly could eventually do. Maybe it could be a separate Save option, like File > Save with Generated Naming.
