Adobe keeps on telling me I've got an update

I have PSE13 (and Premiere) and recently a banner popped up advising me 'You have a new update!'   The updates on offer were PSE 13.1 and ACR 9.0

Having installed them and re-started my PC as requested, I re-opened PSE13 and the banner instantly re-appeared.  I thought maybe there was another update that they wanted to install (MS Windows OS can be like that sometimes, too) so I repeated the process.

I then re-opened PSE and blow me, the blasted banner was there again!  The updates on offer were exactly the same as before and the only options were to 'Install Now' or 'Install on Exit' / 'Remind me Later' ... there was no option to dismiss the banner without doing any of those things.

This is becoming as tiresome as Google continually asking if I want Google Chrome, or splashing the 'Privacy Reminder from Google' banner all over the bottom of the screen.

How can I stop the Adobe 'You have an update!' banner re-appearing?  I've done everything I've been asked to do, I just want to be left alone!

    Hi Rupert,

Try updating the Adobe Application Manager - yes it is for PSE as well as CS

Adobe - Adobe Application Manager : For Windows : Adobe Application Manager

The query about PSE 14 was just to see whether that could be the cause.

You can't post screenshots like you tried - they get blocked by Adobe. See following for how to do it.

    Hi,

At the bottom of the dialog box telling that there is an update, do you see a Preferences button?

If you do, click on it and then uncheck the PSE 13 option.

That should stop it keep annoying you.

Incidentally, Have ever tried PSE 14 on that system?

I have found that updating PSE 14 causes a problem with PSE 13. The only way to resolve it was to uninstall PSE 13 and PSE 14, then only install PSE 13  and it will update correctly - but don't install PSE 14unless you want to upgrade.

    Hi Brian,

Thank you for taking the trouble to reply.

As you can see from the screen print below, there is no 'Preferences'

    button on the Update banner:

The 'Install on Exit' drop down tab gives the option to 'Remind Me

Later', which is what I'm doing currently until the message stops returning.

I'm only just getting into Premiere Elements 13 so no, I don't want or

need to upgrade to 14.  PSE13 is also more than enough for my still

    photography processing needs.

    Any other ideas?

    Regards,

    Rupert
