Hello all,

In my previous version e.g. I could click on a photo and choose to open it with photoshop editor but in this version I do not have that option. Can anyone tell me how to make that happen instead of having to open the organizer then clicking on the photo editor and then open a photo I have saved on my desktop?

Thank you

Peg

What operating system are you using?

When you right click a photo in either Windows File Explorer or macOS Finder you

don't see the photoshop elements 2021 editor listed?

I am using Windows 11 on a desktop about a year old.  And I do not see photoshop elements 2021 editor listed.

I'm not sure that I fully understand your question.  However, if you want to select a photo in the Organizer and open it in the Elements Editor, my favorite way is to use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+I (Cmd+I for Mac).

Alternatively, if you select the photo, you should be able to click on the Editor button in the lower tool bar and the Editor should launch:

I think that what OP has in mind is to open PSE-Editor when right clicking on a picture file to get to the context menu. Apparently in Windows 11 it requires a registry edit in order to populate the menu with PSE as an additional option.

how to add an option in windows 11 main context menu , not in - Microsoft Community

An alternative would be to change the default app for each file type that you are interested in opening.  This would allow you to simply double-click on the file in Windows Explorer and it would open in the Elements Editor.  To do this,

  1. Go to Windows Settings>Apps>Default Apps
  2. In the search box, type in the file extension that you wish to open, e.g. .jpg
  3. Click on the Choose a Default App box
  4. Choose the Elements Editor from the list
  5. Click the Set Default button (not shown in my screenshot)
