Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0 & RAW

Your Elements 5 is much to old to support your camera raw files. By the way, since any new camera comes with its own new, unique raw format, you can consider that Elements 5 can't  support most of today's cameras...

The good news is that Adobe offers the free DNGconverter mentioned in that faq. That independent software (not a plugin) can batch convert a whole folder of your raw files to the universal DNG raw format that your PSE5 can read and edit.
