Adobe Photoshop Elements Freezes on Mac with Organizer open at the same time

I am using Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 with the organizer on a Mac with OS Sierra 10.12.6 and Photoshop freezes and hangs with the spinning wheel only when the organizer is open at the same time.  It seems to happen the most when you are trying to use any of the tools.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
