Camera Raw Filter won't show

New Here ,
Feb 09, 2023 Feb 09, 2023

I have installed PS 2023 the other day. Still unable to install the Camera Raw Filter in the Filter dropmenu. When opening a RAW-file, the window only offers the basic adjustment tools, nothing on the upper or right hand side. All tutorials seem to have another PS 2023 interface, so I am hardly able to adjust mine. Even the preferences menu is nothing like the ones in the the tutorials, videos etc. I am running out of gas on this one...

Try resetting the Camera Raw preferences:
Hold down the Command key and select Photoshop > Preferences > Camera Raw (macOS) or hold down the Ctrl key and select Edit > Preferences > Camera Raw (Windows).
Click Yes in the dialog that asks "Delete the Camera Raw Preferences?"

Hi,

Tried it, nowhere in my preferences is Camera Raw even mentioned. So no
preferences to be adjusted.
Like it doesn't exit at all, or not recognized by PS.

I'm not referring to Photoshop preferences if that what you've just referred to.

I notice your CR  is v14.4

If your Photoshop is v24.1.1 then you should be using CR v15.1.1

Use the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App to un-install Photoshop then re-install Photoshop and check to see if CR also updates.

And be aware the the Camera Raw FILTER (that works with rendered RGB pixels) is not the same as the Camera Raw interface (that renders raw images). Not all the same tools are available in the Filter.

Regards. My System: Windows-11, Lightroom-Classic 14.3, Photoshop 26.6, ACR 17.3, Lightroom 8.3, Lr-iOS 9.0.1, Bridge 15.0.4 .

Hi,
I have the 15.1.1 installed. It is recognized when I check the plug-ins.
Important notice: I have a Ps bought with download/activating code, so not
a subscription.
Maybe there is a difference in adapting CR?
In preferences, I am also not able to choose any Raw or not as should be
possible.
Opening Raw images is no problem, but still the basic adjustments.
No Camera Raw filter in the Filter menu.
Will be continued but getting quite tired.

Kind regards!
Kris

Mm..yes. I think this is the catch...
As far as I educated myself the last several days, I guess PSE has no CR in
the filter menu.
Found myself some tutorials and none of them gets into this subject.
But still a lot of fun with PSE!

The Photoshop Elements version of Camera Raw has only limited features.  It looks like you have now figured that out.

And while there is no ACR filter, it is possible to use the Elements Camera Raw Editor with non-raw files by going to the File>Open in Camera Raw dialog.
