I pruchased the new Copy of Adobe Photoshop Elements 2020 (Version 20.0 - German). I would like to Edit the RAW Files from my new NIKON Z fc Camera but ist seems that the built-in CameraRAW Version (13.3.0.807) is to old. There should to be a newer Version 14 available but I can't find a Download for MacOS (12.01.1)!

@Andreas219943944qol, it looks like you posted before you saw my post.  There is a solution to your problem.

Sorry, I bought the current version Elements 2022 (Version 20) and owned 2020 before. But it seems that Photoshop Elements just works out of the box and never gets any ACR Updates!!!

I thought that if I buy the current Version I'll get the current ACR 14.0 but it seems I was completely wrong. - Adobe really sucks!!! They only want sell their CC subscriptions...

You need to download the update from the link. You can do this for free.

The update only works for the full Photoshop.

Elements users do appreciate how Photoshop users are trying to help, but what those don't know is:

1 - Elements having only a 'crippled' version of ACR, a new 'slim' version of ACR is produced for working with Elements without a number of features. That takes some time. Elements being a non-subscription license model, there is no continual updating. Elements is not continually updated, a new version is issued every year. There may be one update during the year, for major bug fixing or ACR updating at most. The official answer from Adobe is that Elements users can use the DNGconverter for free to wait for a new PSE version next year.

2 - Less known:  what senior PSE users are advising is indeed to download the full Photoshop version of ACR, and to follow a precise workflow to install it into Elements so that new cameras are recognized. That does not make the full features of the Photoshop version available.

3 - All users of the present Elements forum are aware of the major current discussions of PSE2022 about the lastest Mac OS being not yet supported. So, issues about ACR can't be solved before the OS incompatibility is solved.

I assume you have purchased Elements 2022 which is in fact version 20.

It is possible to upgrade Camera Raw to the latest version if you follow the instructions in this article.  This requires you to download the latest ACR (which is for Photoshop CC) and copy the plug-in file from the Photoshop CC location to the appropriate Elements location listed in the article.  I currently have the latest ACR (14.0.1) installed in Elements 2022 on my Windows 10 machine, but have no experience with Macs.  You will have to try it out for yourself.  Your camera requires only Camera Raw 13.4, so the workaround should allow you to open your new camera's raw files.

Currently, Adobe is not supporting Elements 2022 on the Monterey OS, but is working on a fix.  There are numerous complaints on this forum about Monterey and Elements but from what I can tell, they relate mainly to the program only launching once each session, and a reboot of the computer is required to allow it to launch again.  I have not seen many problems with the program's features. If you have installed the program and can get it to work on editing files from an earlier camera, I would be interested in hearing that.

@TheDigitalDog, most Elements users would not consider Elements 2020 to be pretty old.  There is a reason they don't feel the need to subscribe to the latest and greatest.  😜

I attempted to upgrade to Camera raw 14 on my Mac as shown in the workaround, however step 7 on the attached screenshot does not exist in my Library files..Plug-ins/CC/file formats

There are three Library folders on the Mac. Make sure you're looking at the correct one.

The ACR for Elements differs from Photoshop. Your copy of Elements is pretty old and that version doesn't likely support such a newer camera. The current version is now up to Elements 2022:

You can try downloading the free DNG converter which should support that camera or update your copy of Elements.
