Canon 1Dx Mk II files

I tried to open a file today and I'm getting an error message saying that I'm trying to open a Raw file and I need an updated version?

The 1DX Mark II was first supported in Camera Raw 9.5 which is compatible with Elements 14 or later.

Which version of Elements are you running?

Which version of Camera Raw do you have installed? Help (Win) or Photoshop Elements (Mac) > About Plug-Ins > Camera Raw

Then you have two options:

Upgrade to the current version Elements 2019 (or buy a new full version if it's cheaper), or
Free option: download the Adobe DNG converter, convert all 1DX Mark II Raw files to DNG format. Then open the DNG files (not the Raw files) in Elements 13.
