content aware in Elements 16 not working

New Here ,
Oct 24, 2017 Oct 24, 2017

I upgraded to PS 2018, Elements 16 on Windows 10 .  Now content aware fill is not working.  I use the magic wand to select date/time stamp numbers, Edit / Fill Selection / Mode - Exclusion / Opacity 100%, OK and nothing changes.

Are you wanting to get rid of the time stamp or what is your goal?

In pse 16 i drew a rectangular marquee around the whole time stamp, then used Edit>Fill (selection)>Content Aware set to Normal mode.

Please try resetting preferences once.

To do so, Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Mac: Option+Command+Shift)  immediately after Photoshop Elements begins launching. Click Yes to  delete the Adobe Photoshop Elements settings file.

Let us know if issue still persists.

Thanks,

Anwesha

Anwesha,

I did that, replied Yes to the delete, and still does not work.  The field does change from the original color, but is now a light blue and still has the number form.

Jeff,

I am trying to remove the date/time stamp and the Rectangular Marquee /Fill Normal does the trick well enough.

The Magic Wand / Fill Exclusion would be a more detailed fill but since it does not work in pse 16, I will hope that Adobe fixes that in the future.
