I added the regestry key OverridePhysicalMemoryMB

the message disappears but photoshop elements photo editor spontaneously quits without starting .

The trial version elements 2018 does work : that means my computer fulfills the requirements.

Is there a solution for photoshop elements 14?

Also tried to download Elements 14 again to re-install and cannot find anywhere to do it. I am now stuck with no PSE and do not wish to be blackmailed into buying the newest version for $70!

Depending on how you purchased the software, you may have a download link if you get to www.adobe.com then Manage Account then Plans and Products, then Order History.

Otherwise, to find the download for PSE14, you should click on the Download and Install under the Support area in the page footer of adobe.com:

Once there, you can click the Other Downloads tab and find downloads for older software versions:

I succeded this way  ( Windows 10 pro 64 bits, 4 GB RAM, 2 GB video memory, 200 GB free space SSD / 500 GB, Intel dual core):

  • I Pressed the Windows logo key and R key to open the Run dialog.
  • I Typed regedit and pressed Enter.
  • In the Registry Editor window,I navigated to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\16.0 folder. With right click, I  created in this folder a  new key named  OverridePhysicalMemoryMB and pressed Enter.
  • I clicked right on the newly created key and chose Modify.
  • I Changed the Value Data from 0 to a numeric megabyte value that reflects a little bit less than my system's physical memory. For example, I entered  4000 for 4 GB, (instead of 4096) .

I tried this procedure and it fixed the problem! Not only that, but PSE seems to load and work a lot faster.
