Question

'Could not save……… because disk is full'

Excuse me for resurrecting a problem that has been mentioned here in the past. I've done a search but haven't been able to find a satisfactory
solution. I'm using Elements 2.0 (I know I know I should get a later version) and just recently when I try to save a photo I've worked on I get the message 'Could not save……… because disk is full'.

I'm using Windows 7 SP2 64 bit, an Intel® Core™ i7-3770 processor, 16 GB of RAM. I have 3 hard drives - a 256 GB SSD with 100 GB free space, a standard 1 TB hard drive with 931 GB free space, and a standard 2 TB hard drive with 1.81 TB free space. All of my photos are on the 2 TB drive. This drive was replaced a short while ago (fortunately I had everything backed up) and the problem with Elements 2.0 has started since that. Opening/closing/moving files within the 2 TB drive works perfectly well.

I have tried saving photos from Elements 2.0 to my other standard hard drive and that works OK, so it's something to do with the new hard
drive. Has anyone got any ideas that might help? Many thanks.  Jeremy.

Take a look at these previous forum topics on the same or similar problem:

In particular, some users have reported that PSE2 will not work on a drive over 1 TB.  I don't know if the problem is general or just with certain hard drive brands.

Thanks Mark. Having had a quick look at the links you provided I suspect, as you suggest, that the fact that I've replaced my faulty 1 TB drive with a 2 TB drive is the root of the problem. Do you have any idea if partitioning the 2 TB drive might solve the problem?  Jeremy  PS. Just for reference the 2 TB drive is a Seagate Barracuda ST2000DM006

Jeremy, I don't know if partitioning the 2 TB will work. I've never done anything like that. Hopefully another user of this forum can answer that.
