Deleting an Outline of a Word Bubble

Hello. I am new to Adobe Photshop Elements 2018. I have a photo from Google images that had a word bubble in it. I wanted to change the words in the word bubble, so I deleted the word bubble and replaced it with another word bubble from Google images. I was able to type my text in it. However, when I looked more closely at the entire photo, I noticed that there was still a partial outline of the previous word bubble underneath the new bubble that I had placed in the photo. I have tried everything I know to delete this outline of the word bubble, but I've had no luck.

Can someone give me some ideas on how to go about deleting this?

Thank you.

Margaret, I'm trying to understand this. If you added the new bubble on top of the old, the old one should be totally obscured, including its outline.

Is the entire new bubble larger than the old? Is the new bubble on a new layer?

It would help if you post a screen shot of your PSE work area, including the open Layers Palette.

Thank you for your response. Yes, the new bubble is smaller than the old one; however, after much trial and error, I was able to remove most of it to the point where it would be hard to see if I posted a screenshot of it. I used the Content Aware tool over it several times, but it looks fine.

I used the Content-Aware Tool with the Fill option. This seems to be working, although I have to use it numerous times over the outline of the former word bubble and I have to fill in any distortions that result in the photo. One can barely see the former outline in the photo, so at this point I am satisfied with the results.

It would help if you post the original so that we may provide targeted suggestions. I assume that the Google image is not subject to copyright.

Why not use the shape tool in Expert mode? You can select a bubble from the pull down menu in tool options – see image below. Simply drag out the shape on your photo and you can then add text.
