Deleting Photos in Organizer Glitch

When I import a folder from explorer into photoshop organizer elements 2023, I like to open the folder in media and go through the photos one at a time in single view, deleting the ones I don't want. Ordinarily when I delete one, the next photo appears. But regularly, instead, the view freezes momentarily, switches to grid view and drops to the end of the folder. How can I fix this?

This is a random (and annoying) problem that has existed for years and never been fixed.  FYI, you can use the Home and End keys to get to the beginning and end of the visible grid.

Thanks for the reply. At least I know it's not just me.
