Dragging a picture to an A4 page

New Here ,
Jan 06, 2019 Jan 06, 2019

After dragging a picture to an A4 page, the picture appears in a much bigger size. What do I have to do to maintain the original size? I use Photoshop 12 and Windows 10.

Thanks in advance for your help!

When you drag a picture from the photobin to your canvas, what you see is the preview of your file resized to fit your canvas. It's a 'smart layer', that is the final size of the layer is not yet defined, you have to use the move tool to decide:

- the final size by dragging the corners of the image

- its position

- its angle.

While the layer is a smart layer you can resize and change position or angle without any loss of quality.

When you are happy with the result, you 'simplify' the layer, which gives it its final state and loses the relation with the original dragged file.

Thanks for the help in the first place. I tried it and it worked. But for many years I dragged pictures to A4 pages without having to change their size and I was quite accustomed to that. Isn't there any method or procedure that I can stick to the way I was used to? Thanks in advanced again!
