effects

I have pse 15 and up to just recently have been able to use all the effects....but yesterday 12/28/16, something happened and now they are blank and when i go and set them as checked on they still do not show up in the bin to the right... i get a circle cursor with the slash down thru it and the ones i had in my favorites are no longer there either.....i still am able to use layers and Graphics.... I purchased 15 off the internet and do not have a disc for it ....I need help to get the effects and favorites back....
