Elements 10 needs DirectX in 64bit Windows

Because my Elements 10 no longer works in my 32 bit Windows 10 PC since a recent automatic update, I decided to try and load the software to my new Windows 10 laptop (64bit). The software appears fine on the Edit screen, but on loading the Organise screen I get a message saying that a DirectX file needs to be loaded. I have Directx 12 but apparently this is not what the software requires. Anyway of finding out specifically which DirectX is needed? (and can different versions exist on the same PC?)
