Elements 11 problem

Community Beginner ,
Jun 12, 2017 Jun 12, 2017

Recently when I open the workspace in Photoshop Elements 11 all the options in the pull down menus have disappeared.

Also the options for Expert/Guided/Quick are not visible anymore.

Reinstalling did not solve the problem. It has run on Windows 10 for more then a year now with no problems

What's going on here?

@marcoFast: did you shutdown your PC (power off) finally? Or standby/sleep mode? That makes a difference.

Georg

I found a solution for the problem which is caused by Microsoft Win 10-CU:

I copied ALL FONTS from the Windows folder of an "old" Windows 10 PC via USB stick to the PC with CU (Creators Update) / "no overwriting".

Only a few of the great number of fonts have been copied - but the fonts needed by PSE 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, .... were included.

Now it works - even after several reboots. I think it will also operate with the Windows 7 fonts.

Problem with Win 10-CU seems to be that most of the fonts used by Adobe Products have automatically been deleted!

Thanks Georg...last time I checked it out Photoshop was still working perfectly.

I don't understand two things:

- if the problem is caused by disappearing fonts used by Adobe applications, why Adobe Premiere was working at the same time Photoshop was in trouble?

- and what a reboot can do against fonts disappeared in the system?

Anyway: until now Photoshop is still working and eventually my problem will be I got no old Windows 10 systems...so I hope the problem is different and...is disappeared!

Actually I don't remember exactly,  but it was at least a reboot, not a standby or hybernate. I'm pretty sure I did a complete shutdown/power cycle, but not 100%.
