Elements 12 Editor cropping photos

New Here ,
Dec 29, 2017 Dec 29, 2017

I've imported photos from a card into Elements 12 Organizer.  When I open the same photos in Elements 12 Editor, they're cropped, cutting people out of the picture.  How can I prevent this from happening?

Have you tried to use a different card?

What happens when you export the card content to a folder on your desktop, and open the picture file(s) in PSE Editor?

Try this. In the Expert mode of the Editor, click on the Magnifying Glass at the top of the Tool Box. Then select Fit Screen from the options at the bottom of the screen. You can also use the keyboard shortcut, Ctrl+0.

Thank you for the response.  Unfortunately, that did not resolve the issue, it simply edited the view of the cropped photo.  Any other suggestions?  Is there something I can do in Organizer prior to opening Editor that might prevent this?

Also, when I click on Editor in Organizer, the photo opens up in Camera Raw, rather than directly in Editor.  (It's also cropped in Camera Raw).  I then have to click Open Image to use Editor.  This is new, and I guess has something to do with the process used when I imported them into Organizer.  Could this be part of the problem?

I only have one card, but I did as you recommended and Editor opened them without cropping.  Still not sure why these were handled any differently than those I've done in the past, but this resolved the issue.  Thanks so much!
