Elements 15: missing PSD thumbnails in Win10

Question

Hi,I just installed PSE 15 in Win 10.  Was previously using PSE 13, this version was still installed when I installed 15.With 13 I had no PSD thumbnails in windows explorer. After PSE 15 installation I got nice PSD image thumbnails with small PSE15 icon in the corner of thumbnail.No longer using 13 I uninstalled it but unfortunately also the thumbnails no longer work!Also tried reinstalling 15 again but still no thumbnails.Can someone (Adobe support? )  please help in getting the thumbnails back ?

If you mean the thumbnails in Windows Explorer, yes, recent Windows versions no longer supplies the required component (codec) to create and show the thumbnails.See:Viewing PSD thumbnails...

Finally I found why I do have thumbs for .psd files in some folders.

If you have Google Chrome browser installed in Windows you can get PSD thumbs in Windows File Explorer.

Open Chrome

Ctrl+O (opens file open dialog)

browse to the folder where you have your psd images you want thumbs for.

Just wait a few seconds and Chrome will create all thumbnails for you.

Exit Chrome

If you use File explorer you see the thumbs :-)

Of course this requires to refresh them thru Chrome from time to time.
