New install.  No error message. No Lavasoft.  No Web Companion.  Running as administrator, or trying to open in C: programs, PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe responds as "...has stopped working, sending error report... blah-blah-blah { or does nothing at all.... just the spinning timer }

Yes, I have the full Ruiware suite: WinPatrol Plus, WinPatrol Firewall and WinPatrol War.  They don't seem to have flagged anything malicious related to this issue.

    Hi Andrew,

When I did a search on the net for that failing module, it flagged up as part of WinPatrol.

I think that there maybe a conflict between WinPatrol and PSE.

You could see if there is anything on WinPatrol site

You coul try disabling WinPatrol to see if the editor runs then.

I have had problems before and ended up removing the offending software for a week while they sorted it out.

    Hi Andrew,

You're not having a lot of luck are you

Which version of Windows 10 are you running on - 1709? [Start -> Settings -> System -> About - Windows Specification]

What happens if you click on windows start and select Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 from the application list - do you get the Welcome screen?

    Does the organizer load?

Try resetting the editor preferences by deleting the following file: -

    C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\11.0\Editor\Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 Prefs.psp

    Then try loading the editor

    Hello Brian

No I am not having much luck with this. Your solution did not work.  This all started after Windows 10 Pro, Version 1709 updated itself.  If I click on the elements icon, nothing happens except the spinning timer wheel for a few seconds.  I've also tried running as admin and a welcome screen starts up but then crashes.

    Hi Andrew,

I'm running on a fully update version 1709 of Windows and i must be luckier than you.

When you last installed PSE 15, did you do so from DVD or the download?

Do you know how to look at the Windows reliability history? - sometimes that may give a clue

[In the windows search box on the taskbar, enter the word reliability and it should be top of the list]

Is your graphics card driver up to date? - you could try running dxdiag
