Having display issues with Photoshop Elements after upgrading my Macbook Pro to Sonoma. See screen shots for details.
Color picker doesn't show color correctly. Color should show solid black not half white. Dialog also shows incorrectly once opened.
Photos in Photo Bin are distorted if more than one photo is opened. This makes it very difficult to work with the files.

Sonoma does not play nicely with Elements 2022. Adobe will not fix something that Apple broke. I suggest you contact Apple support. Otherwise, roll back your OS. (I am not trying to sell you anything, but you can also see if Elements 2024 takes care of these problems for you. )

To clarify, Adobe does not play nicely with Apple. Apple will not fix something that Adobe could fix with a patch (per Apple Support). I suggest you contact Adobe support. Otherwise, download another program such as.... anything else. (I am not trying to sell you anything, but you can also see if Adobe will tell you to buy Elements 2024 to take care of these problems for you. )

Tom, saying a simple patch would solve the problem is not a professional answer.
The truth is that you would need a new sub-version for each of the twenty old PSE version.
As indicated by Greg, your problem is specific to [Elements 2022 and older] with Sonoma. Not Adobe and Apple. No problem with all the 50 different pro Adobe softwares which are upgraded regularly via the subcription model. Did you also notice that Elements 2013, issued one year before Sonoma is said to work fairly well with Sonoma?
What are your different options now?
1 - upgrading from Elements to another Adobe subcription softwares (PS or Lightroom). Probably a good economical choice since every year Apple kills older PSE versions with their OS changes.
2 - Going to the competitors, provided you find an equivalent one and are ready to take much time to learn it seriously.
3 - Refraining from updating Apple OSs just because they are the 'latest'. The most compelling reason should be when you have to change your hardware. Remember that Apple is not your only choice...
4 - Downgrading to an older OS version? I don't know, but that is said to be pretty difficult.
5 - Upgrading to PSE 2024 with the 'upgrade' price or better, waiting for a still better discount available at the end of the year by big Internet sellers. AND then refrain from updating your OS if that is not strictly necessary.
That's up to you to choose, but anyway keep in mind that:
- Elements is a very marginal software for Adobe in terms of revenue, and that Adobe never misses an opportunity to show the advantages of the subscription license model over the so-called 'perpetual' licenses.. The loss of some Apple PSE users may not be compensated by upgrades to subscriptions, but globally the PSE damage is compensated by the growing acceptance and satisfaction of the subscription model.
By the way, for you, what is the market share of Apple vs Windows for Elements, worldwide?

A Let-them-eat-cake response. You didn't notice inflation across the spectrum? I suppose Elements will go the way of Flash, Dreamweave and Applets.
