Font Preview Freezes the Program in PSE 2019

In PSE 2019, every time I tried to use the Type tool, the program froze. I had to use the Control Panel in Windows 10 to stop the process and close the program. This makes PSE 2019 unusable for text edits.

When I disabled the Font Preview in the preferences, the Type tool worked as expected. Not blazingly fast, but no more freezes.

Conclusion: Font Preview is defective. Will this be fixed in a later update?

It works just fine for me.

You may have a corrupted font installed.

I used the Font Doctor app to check all my installed fonts for corrupt fonts. That program reported no errors - all fonts OK. Any other suggestions for how to find corrupt fonts?

Also, I do not have this problem in PSE 2018.

Thanks for sticking with me on this, Peru Bob.

I reset the preferences as you suggested. The program still freezes when I use the Type tools if Font Preview is set to ON.  I must use the Windows Task Manager to stop the process.  However, when I turn the Font Preview off, the Type tools work as expected.

That's OK with me. I can work without the Font Preview.

It could be a graphics driver issue. You might try updating or rolling back your graphics driver directly from the video card manufacturer’s site if you feel more adventurous and want to pursue this. Other than that, I could only suggest an uninstall, use the CC Cleaner App, and reinstall.
