Greenscreen/ Background Problem

I don't understand the problem completely.

Try this:

1. Open the "greenscreen"picture file.
2. Duplicate the background layer, and shut of the visibility of the Background layer by clicking on its eye icon in the layers palette.
3. Work on the Background copy layer and delete the background on the picture with the magic wand tool, with which you are familiar. That should leave you with a checkerboard pattern in the area of the deleted background.
4. Now, place your replacement background on a layer between the Background and Background copy layers.
