What could be the reason for the extreme difference between Camera Raw in PSE13 and PSE2019 e.g. in automatic development? In my opinion, Camera Raw 10.4 now intervenes in the image aesthetics in a completely crazy way. Even the color of the sky becomes unnatural and the dynamic adjustment smoothes everything out mercilessly. Can anyone contribute to this?

What profile are you using? It could be the Adobe Clolor is being used as a default. Try clicking the profile browser icon – see image below – and experiment with Adobe Standard or camera matching. The new profiles enable you to change the “look” without affecting the slider settings.

What you are seeing is the overexposure red overlay.
Click on the triangles on the top of the histogram to toggle those warnings off and on.

Hello 99jon, thanks for the quick reaction. Your hint could have been correct. But I had developed both examples anyway in the possible film simulations of the camera (Fuji X-E2, fishing boat in Provia, lighthouse in Classic Chrome). I guess it's not that. Here one of the examples now with Adobe Standard. All processes in both Camera Raw versions have taken place under exactly the same conditions and parameters. As you can see, the difference is even more pronounced. This suggests further developed algorithms, but I don't really like the results. Apart from the taste, I think the difference is curious. Under PSE2019 this is only postcard kitsch. Here to the clarification, what the automatic generates in each case:
Contrast PSE13: +8, PSE2019: -11
Highlights PSE13: -2, PSE2019: -64
Shadows PSE13: +2, PSE2019: +47
Whites PSE13: +9, PSE2019: +28
Blacks PSE13: -14, PSE2019: -19
Vibrance PSE13: 0, PSE2019: +18
Saturation PSE 13: 0, PSE2019: +5
I have always set exposure and clarity to 0.
The new Camera Raw obviously turns much more violently at the parameters.
Hello MichelBParis, do you mean the red of the ship's hull? The boat was actually like that. The examples are the developed JPG, no screenshots from Camera Raw.

Ok, I was wrong.

The other difference could be a shift caused by a later process version. The latest Camera Raw plug-in uses P/V 5 but earlier versions may be using PV4 or PV3.
