I do a signature, as a jpeg or psd.

I click define brush

I save it as best I can ctlr-s

It is there in the brushes - for a while  SometimesI have to click Load Brushes.

Then disappears, never to be seen again

How do I save it in my brushes.

Thank you.

Ensure you save into the presets holder. See if my YouTube video helps.

Finally, finally got it - I think.  The renaming of an abr file etc, looks far too complicated for me, but it can be done on this video - buyt is not made clear.  Turns out this is a problem encountered by many.

On the video, 3 minutes in, it says click 'Save Brushes' at the bottom of the 3 dots, NOT 'Save Brush' which is at the top!!!.  I think this has stumped everyone, not surpsingly.  If the brushes do not show, click 'Load Brushes'.

It gets saved to the bottom of whatever brush set you had selected when you defined/ created the brush.  let me know if you need more help.

Yes, it does save it for a short while.  Then it disappears.  Have had this problem for years.

DO THIS:

Search your computer for ABR files.   Copy one- give it a new name like "My custom brushes"- Put it in here:

C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\25.0\Presets\Brushes
Use that copied abr file for whatever brushes you make.

Restart the editor.
Open a new canvas.
Pick that newly copied and renamed abr file.

Use that for all the brushes you make.
