How to add a new folder under My Folders in Organizer

I need to know how to add a new folder for a new set of pictures under My Folder.  I am working on my Pictures and I need to work on a series of pictures for my daughter.  The two need to be completely separate; ie. the Tags must not be merged.

It's very easy to create new folders from the organizer. Depending on the organizer version, you simply show the left folders panel in tree view (just like in the explorer/finder), right click on the master folder in which you want to add your new folder, and choose the create option.)

But...

That is not your problem.

You have to understand that even if the organizer can be used just like the explorer/finder to create folder tree hierarchy, its main use is to store all information from you (tags) or from the camera (exif) in a catalog.

You can have different catalogs, and that is the only way to manage your tags, albums, captions, notes etc. independently even if you are tagging the same physical picture file. There is no simple way to merge catalogs. It looks like creating two different catalogs is what you want. You also can create two different folder trees, that's your choice.

However, keep in mind that the big advantage of being independent has a corollary: what is stored in a catalog is ignored by the other...

In practice, I recommend choosing one catalog as the 'master' one and the other as the 'child' one if you are working on the same picture files.

Good practice rules when sharing the same files:

Don't move, rename or delete files from disk in a catalog, that will be ignored by the other.

If you 'write metadata' to files, that will be ignored by the other catalog.

Backups:

The master catalog as well as the 'child' one can be backed  up separately. If the 'child' one is a subset of the complete library, only the files in the child catalog can be restored.

Keeping in mind those sharing conditions, each catalog provides full freedom for creating albums, tags, captions, notes as well as saved searches, stacks or version sets.

I am using PSE 13 now.  Will get PSE 15 shortly.  Right clicking on 'My Folder' does nothing.  If I right click on 'Pictures' that is under My Folder I have the option of adding a sub folder.  I wanted to add a new folder under 'My Folder'.
