Question

How to change colors

The dresses in my wedding pictures were actual colors of light blue and lavender.  One dress was blue and one dress was lavender.  When my photographer gave me all my pictures in JPEG format (he did not keep the raw), the colors in the dresses were wrong.  Because of the lighting throughout the day and into the evening, the colors look slightly different in each of the pictures.  Even within each picture, the shading might be different since it is clothing.  It seems quite tedious to go into over 500 pictures one by one to try to correct each color.

I am totally new to Photoshop, but am willing to learn.  I am looking for a product that will allow me to correct the color of all of my pictures (maybe in batches?).  Is anything out there?  Suggestions?  Should I just hire someone instead?

Thanks.

That reminds me of:

https://www.google.fr/search?q=color+of+the+blue+and+black+dress&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-b&gfe_rd=cr&ei=ygC7WM-…

The problem is that your vision (rather your brain...) is a champion to let you recognize objects/garments colors even in very different lighting (white balance, temperature). And wedding photography is fond of pictures taken in 'warm' light.

Color correction like this can be achieved with Elements, but that requires real skills to be efficient for such big batches.

Probably not all 500 pictures are "keepers", so you may be able to reduce the number to be worked on.

In order to make this a fun project  rather than a chore, I would work on just a few at one time.

You will have to select each dress and alter the hue/saturation, retaining the luminosity.

If you are so inclined, post a representative picture for us to look at and get a better idea as to the issue.

Depends on you finances.

Thanks for the reply and the suggestion!  I'll post a couple representative pictures in a few days.  I'm currently reloading my new computer and don't yet have access to them.
