Just want to import a some photos from elements 14 to lightroom CC, don't want to import the catalog.

I can open LR from elements but the selected files do not import.

Thanks for any help with this.

Sorry, I should have said 'Open' images from Elements Organizer to LR.

I can open images in Photoshop from Elements and want to do the same going to LR.

That's impossible. LR is not a pixel editor and can't be set as an external tool from any software. You have to import the files in the LR catalog to be able to edit them.
By the way, if you want to use the LR editing tool with the Elements editor or Photoshop, why not open the files directly in ACR?

Sounds like you prefer the Organizer to manage photos and LR to 'edit' them?

Could you explain why you want to share a given set of image files between the organizer and LR ?

If you reference the same files in both softwares, the changes you'll make with one will be ignored by the other.

So, the safe way is to accept to create duplicates. Simply use the 'export' function of the organizer after writing metadata to files and use LR to import those duplicates.

If you don't want duplicates, you may use the organizer to move the files into specific folders which you can select to re-import in LR.

    Edit:

Theoretically, you can duplicate your organizer catalog and delete all the unwanted pictures from the catalog (NOT from disk).

Then you update LR with the newly created catalog. You recover more information (albums, stacks...).

Warning: deleting a big number of file in an organizer catalog may be very long and may even abort. Do it by smaller batches...
