Icon for PSE 8 on Mac Dock

I am running PSE 8 for the Mac on OS 10.11.6 El Capitan.

I had to uninstall and reinstall to get rid of the Error code 150:30

That is fixed.

But now, when I add the icon for PSE 8 to the dock, it show a different icon than before.

Before it was showing "PSE" on a blue background.

Now it shows:

How do I change it back to what it was?

Thanks,

Roberto

Yes, I did.

And then I reinstalled using the original DVD.

Thanks,

See if the following works on the

Adobe Photoshop Elements 8.app

in

/Applications/Adobe Photoshop Elements 8

GUYS! After years of trying the commands above (literally, 2-3 years), with almost no success due to macOS strong caching. I've discovered that the BEST, most RELIABLE way to rebuild the icon cache in macOS is to right click the app, "Get Info", drag ANYTHING to its icon in the top left of the "Get Info" window (you can drag a FOLDER to its icon if you want to) to assign a new temporary icon, then CLICK the icon in the "get info" window and press BACKSPACE to clear it. Now that forces macOS to re-read the .icns file inside the bundle itself. And will cache the new one. Far more reliable than any attempts to clear caches. None of the commands above have ever worked for me. But my solution works every time!

What about if you get rid of that icon in the dock and start pse 8 like you did before you put the icon in dock.

What does the icon in the dock look like?

If it looks right you can right click on the icon, click on Options and then click on Keep in Dock.

Then after you quit pse 8 the icon should still be in the dock.

Thanks, R_Kelly, for the suggestion.

Tried it. It made no difference.

Strangely enough, the look of the icon varies with the size I select by moving the slide on the bottom right:

So, I deleted the icon from the dock.

Went to Finder and enlarged the icons so it would show the one I want.

Moved the icon to the dock.  It was looking good...

As I got closer, the icon changed to the one I did not want.  When I released it, it was the one I did NOT want.
