import to elements image quality very poor

How can I preserve the image quality when importing a jpg to Elements 2023 from my samsung phone?   Before we upgradedto 2023 it was Perfect. every time.    Now all the jpgs are pixilated and useless.  Help!

Hi Richard,

The only situation I have seen with your description is :

- The files have been downloaded using the option to import "from files and folders" instead of "from caamera or card reader" while importing from a card or a memory stick or similar media (not from an external drive nor a direct connection to the camera.)

- The option to save big thumbnails at import is ticked. That is for enabling managing the catalog while  the physical source is not plugged in.

- The source media is no longer plugged in, so what you are looking at is not the real media, it's the reduced size thumbnail (according to your preference in the import dialog.)

 

So the files are not available, only the big thumbnails. They are not "missing" or "disconnected", they are "offline".

 

If that is your situation, check that in the information panel of the organizer or in the tree view on the left panel.

 

Search for "offline files" in the text search line in the home screen to find the procedure to reconnect  the files after plugging the original media source.
