Or do I just need to do something extra to get it to work?
Thanks so much for any guidance!
PX Engine is related to the DVD burning engine and can't be updated to work on Windows 11. Perhaps you can try updating your dvd burning software--- or try simply uninstalling the software it if not needed any more.
There are LOTS of free dvd burning programs available.

Thanks for your reply. That's very interesting since my PC does not have a CD/DVD drive. I don't know why it would have the software. Is it possible that the PSE is looking for it for some reason? When I originally bought PSE 2018 it was on CD but this time I downloaded the replacement since I don't have a CD drive.

Thank you so MUCH for the screenshots. I was able to navigate to troubleshoot compatibility and that seems to have fixed the problem. At least now it launches Yay!
Thanks again for taking the time to respond and with those helpful screenshots!

I just upgraded my Win 10 machine to Win 11 and Elements 2018 runs just fine. (So do Elements 4 and Elements 10 through 2023). If you did a new installation on your Win 11 machine, you may need to run in Compatibility mode. See this link for suggestions how to proceed.

Thanks so much for responding. This is a new PC with Windows 11 originally installed (not an upgrade).

OK, I got the same PX engine unknown when trying to install APSE2018 on my new Windows 11 computer. Noticing that the install icon was still active, I ignored the PX Engine unknown popup. APSE18 installed completely and well.
